Metal Gear Solid Movie Announced

Assalamualaikum / Peace be Upon You

During the stage presentation at the Metal Gear Anniversary event in Tokyo, Hideo Kojima confirmed that there was still a Metal Gear movie project in the works with Avi Arad producing after several years of chatter about a Metal Gear Solid movie and apparently the project was at one time moving forward. Then, the movie project simply died off.

Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima explains that he had been searching for years for a suitable production team to create a fitting movie adaptation, but with the availability of Avi Arad to oversee things and his reputed success at adapting American comic book classics (or Marvel comics at any rate) he had confidence he would do Snake justice as well.

Regardless of what you think of the quality of video games being adapted into films (most of the time they suck like Dead or Alive, Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken etc), studios keep churning them out, and no matter how sacred the franchises are, the studios will see them as a property that they like, they will turn it into a film.

Avi Arad, the former Marvel Entertainment CEO  - who still frequently serves as a producer on the company's films, including this year's $700 million-grossing "Amazing Spider-Man" - has announced he's now developing the property with Columbia Pictures.

Metal Gear Solid franchise is a complex story filled multi-generational stories about infiltration and espionage. But the first game started with a special ops soldier code named Solid Snake infiltrating a nuclear weapons disposal facility to neutralize the terrorist organization FOXFOUND, a specialized attack force group gone rouge. Since those events, we learn that there is much more to Snake, FOXHOUND, and the people behind the Metal Gear projects. There is so much that a prequel game had to be made to elaborate on the history. It’s all very complex, but it’s also a very fun game to play. Not to mentioned several jokes were inside the various game franchise.

Personally, I doesn't want it to be made into a live-action movie but it wouldn't stop the studios anyway. So, I just have to embrace it with unwilling open arms. I just hope that the movie wouldn't suck ass like what happened to Daredevil, Elektra, and several other adaptations.

I do have several actors that I personally want to see them being the characters but mostly I think the one that would play major roles in the movie.

I was torn between Eric Bana, and Gerard Butler but picked Hugh Jackman instead because apparently Butler's face is too big to become Solid Snake. Since he played the cigar loving Wolverine, it might work with the cigarettes loving Solid Snake.

Most of my friends somewhat agree of him being Liquid Snake and Kuzuhira Miller because I don't know which other actor can play the role better.

You need someone who can pull off the take-charge, yet fatherly type role that is required of Colonel Campbell. Who else than Martin Sheen for this role? I couldn't agree more.

For Meryl, you would need a hottie who isn't afraid to get rough and take a few tumbles. She acted as Gwen Stacy in Raimi's Spider-Man movie surely she can take a few actions in Metal Gear Movie (and not to mentioned seeing her doing situps in her panties?)

My personal point of view, he'd pretty much perfect for it - he's very intelligent and scientific, but also is great at coming across as vulnerable and mild. And he looks the part too, which is a major plus. But a friend of mine told me that he look too charming to become Otakon.

The first thing that came to my mind when Gary Oldman acted as Sirius Black in Harry Potter's movies was; Fuck! Ocelot! Yeah that's right. You want someone that you doesn't know his true intentions and someone that like to be in the dark, he's your man.

Scott Adkins have a small body frame but is well built which would make him perfect to be the Cyborg Ninja. Not to mentioned that he have martial arts background that would make him being able to pulled Cyborg Ninja's moves.

No one in Hollywood can pull this off being Psycho Mantis better than the tall, lanky, spindly, and expressive Doug Jones. Known as his role as The Pale Man (Pan's Labyrinth), Abe Sapien (Hellboy) and Silver Surfer (Fantastic Four). He got the moves.

Being Sniper Wolf needs an actress who is very talented and can convincingly play strong, imposing, and also dangerous. I think Charlize Theron will pulled this off perfectly.

I know that Vulcan Raven were supposed to be big in size, I was thinking Dalip Singh Rana (The Great Kali) but his voice wasn't that perfect for the role. Thus I picked The Rock to become the Inuit American warrior.

Most people said that he should be Solid Snake but for me, I think he'd better off as Big Boss. He looks badass and awesome not to mentioned the character that he portrayed were being used in the franchise.

That's the characters that I could think of... I do have several other characters that I had the actors in mine such as Naomi Hunter, Mei Ling, and Natasha Romanenko but the list would be a long one. Well, this is only my personal point of view regarding the actors and actresses that should play the respective characters.

Do you have any suggestions on which actors and actresses that should take the roles?

Salam
